Finland’s Prime Minister Sanna Marin and her husband Markus Raikkonen have decided to go their separate ways after 19 years of being together.
The pair, who tied the knot in 2020 and have a 5-year-old daughter, broke the news on Instagram on Wednesday.

Ms Marin, 37, rose to fame in 2019 when she became the world’s youngest prime minister and the head of a coalition government of five parties, all led by women.

Her Social Democratic Party came third in the parliamentary election in April, behind the right-wing National Coalition Party and the nationalist Finns Party.

I think that Ms Marin’s divorce does not affect her accomplishments or her reputation as a politician. She has proven that she is a powerful and determined woman who can handle any challenge that comes her way. She has also proven that she is a human being who has feelings and emotions like anyone else.
I hope that Ms Marin will keep pursuing her goals and dreams as Finland’s prime minister or in any other role that she chooses. I also hope that she will find joy and peace in her personal life, whether that means being single or finding a new partner. She deserves nothing but respect and support from everyone.
