Violence Engulfs Rajasthan as Rajput Leader’s Killing Ignites Protests

A state-wide bandh, or shutdown, has been called in Rajasthan today in protest of the assassination of Rajput leader Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. Gogamedi was shot dead at his Jaipur home Tuesday evening.

The bandh has been called by the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, a Rajput community organization. The Sena demands a judicial probe into Gogamedi’s murder and his killers’ arrest.

The police are investigating the murder and have launched a manhunt for the killers. No arrests have been made so far till writing this article.
